Thousands of Iran-backed fighters will join Hezbollah (File)
Beirut: Thousands of Iran-backed fighters are eager to join Hezbollah to teach Israel a lesson. They want to give a befitting reply to Israel on behalf of Hezbollah in the Israel-Hamas war that has been going on for nearly 9 months. That is why thousands of fighters from Iran-backed groups in West Asia have voluntarily offered to join the extremist group Hezbollah to fight against Israel. Officials and observers of Iran-backed groups gave this information.
These fighters say they are ready to come to Lebanon to support Hezbollah. Lebanon’s border with northern Israel has been witnessing almost daily gunfire since militants from the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip launched a violent attack on southern Israel in early October. The situation in the northern region worsened this month when a senior Hezbollah military commander was killed in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon. Hezbollah retaliated by firing hundreds of rockets into northern Israel.
Fighters united against Israel
Over the past decade, Iran-backed fighters from Lebanon, Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan have fought together in Syria’s 13-year conflict. Officials with the Iran-backed groups say they could unite again against Israel. Officials with Iran-backed Lebanese and Iraqi groups say Iran-backed fighters from across the region would join forces if war breaks out along the Lebanon-Israel border. (AP)
