Ranchi. Three persons were arrested on Thursday for raising pro-Pakistan slogans in a procession taken out ahead of filing of nomination papers for panchayat elections in Giridih. The procession was taken out on Wednesday on behalf of Sakir Hussain, a chief candidate of Gandey block. After some time, a video of the procession went viral, in which some people were raising pro-Pakistan slogans. On getting this information, the ears of the police-administration were raised. Sakir Hussain and two of his supporters Asif and Suhaib were arrested on Thursday morning.
The deputation magistrate in the Gandey circle office has lodged an FIR against the three at Gandey police station. It is being told that the Giridih district administration has sought the advice of the State Election Commission regarding the cancellation of the nomination of the accused chief candidate.
