New Delhi. Delhi’s Urban Development Minister Ashish Sood on Friday chaired a high -level meeting to prepare an action plan for the proposed cleanliness campaign at the Delhi Secretariat in August 2025 and to set out the special resources and logistic cooperation for its implementation. During this time, all the concerned officials shared the necessary data, upcoming action plans and information of the cleanliness campaign with the minister.
After the meeting, Ashish Sood said that this meeting was held in Delhi to review the preparations for a large scale cleanliness campaign from 1 to 31 August. He also said that this cleanliness campaign has been kept on the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. For this, the Government of India has given us the responsibility that under this campaign, there should be cleanliness on a war footing in Delhi. He told the officials of all the present departments that in this campaign, cleanliness and cleanliness should also be seen in Delhi, so that people should feel that cleanliness is happening in Delhi.
Sood instructed the officials to conduct a cleanliness drive in unauthorized colonies, slums and slums, so that the residents there can also get the benefit. He also told all the officials to include civil welfare committees and public participation etc. in this campaign, these committees will motivate their people to clean.
Education Minister Ashish Sood instructed the Education Secretary to talk to the principals of all government and private schools and also connected the children of those schools with such campaigns. This campaign should not be limited to children’s schools, rather it should also be broadcast even parks around children, street streets, temples, shops etc. Inspire children to also motivate their parents for cleanliness in this month by becoming a cleaning messenger.
Sood instructed the Chief Secretary to motivate all officers and employees in all government offices to clean up in their offices in this campaign in the first two days of the cleanliness drive. He asked the Urban Development Secretary and MCD Department to create a portal of cleanliness, on which all RWA and others should motivate them to register, in which cleaning in this portal and uploading photos of places where they have been cleaned.
He asked the secretary of the Revenue Department to form a team of three senior officers of his department and connect them to every person of every RWA. This officer will go to those people and make them aware of cleanliness and cleanliness.
Sood also instructed the officials present to include celebrities in this cleanliness campaign, so that people should also make this campaign successful by joining them. Also, propagate cleanliness through street plays, posters, loudspeakers etc. He also instructed the Chief Secretary to connect all the PSUs, banks, cooperative institutions in Delhi to the cleanliness drive. Apart from the Chief Secretary of Delhi Government, MCD, NDMC, Health and Family Welfare Department, Information Technology Department, Revenue Department, Education Department and District Magistrate were also present in this meeting.
