India’s para shooter Avani Lekhara won a world record gold medal in the women’s 10m air standing SH1 event. In the final, Lekhara not only equaled the world record with a score of 249.6, but also set a new Paralympic record.

Sumit Antil, who won a gold medal in the Jelvin Throw event, created a world record in the final of the F64 category with a javelin throw of 68.55m. Indian shooter Manish Narwal also won the gold medal in shooting with a Paralympic record. Narwal won the gold medal in the P4 Mixed 50m Pistol SH1 event setting a new Paralympic record with a score of 218.2.

Let us tell you that another record medal for India came from athletics. Athlete Nishad Kumar won silver medal in men’s high jump T47 event with an Asian record. Nishad created an Asian record with a jump of 2.06m. In athletics, once again another para-athlete from India captured the silver medal with an Asian record. India’s Praveen Kumar created an Asian record and a silver medal in the men’s high jump T64 event with a jump of 2.07m.
