Toy And Furniture Cluster In Indore Indore, Naidunia Rep. About two years ago, the government loudly announced the development of two new industrial areas in Indore. Both these new industrial areas declared as Furniture Cluster and Toy Cluster are yet to get off the ground. Far from starting manufacturing units in industrial areas, till now the allotment of plots has not even started, while the responsibility of development of land to construction of factories has also been put on industrialists instead of government agencies. Declared as an important step towards Make in India, the blueprint of these industrial areas has not yet come out of the papers. The troubled industrialist is going to answer this direct question to the state’s MSME Minister Omprakash Saklecha on Saturday morning.
There is a plan to build a furniture cluster on more than 400 acres of land at Chhota Betma on Dhar Road. Similarly, only 1.25 lakh square feet of land has been given for the toy cluster in Rangwasa. The government gave the land on paper in the name of both the industrial areas but till now no industrialist got land there. 150 industry operators in the furniture cluster and 20 industries in the toy cluster are waiting in line to get the land. In fact, in order to develop these industrial areas, the industrialists themselves have to form a group (SPV) and create infrastructure in the industrial area.
By relying on the announcement of the government, the industrialists formed the SPV. Industrialists also collected money, but if land is not allotted, then how can there be development. According to Harish Nagar, the convener of the furniture cluster, the SPV not only collected about 1.25 crore rupees but also deposited it with the government agencies. Entrepreneurs waiting for the plot by paying money are asking us for answers. Only the government can tell what is the real situation. Similarly, the land given to the toy cluster is also being said to be reserved in the name of IT industry in the past. Due to the lack of clarity on this land too, many entrepreneurs have to postpone their industry plans.
Association called for discussion
The Association of Furniture Manufacturers and Association of Toy Manufacturers have called on all the entrepreneurs on Saturday to have a direct talk with MSME Minister Omprakash Saklecha, MP Shankar Lalwani and other public representatives. In Akshat Garden at 12 noon, both will be able to ask questions to the minister regarding the development of new industrial areas.
