Katihar. Railway Police has recovered Rs 52.46 lakh from a passenger traveling in 15609 Avadh-Assam Express from Katihar Railway Station in Bihar. According to the police, a search operation is being conducted in all the trains in view of the elections. Meanwhile, search was started in the Awadh-Assam Express train stopped on the platform. GRP personnel found the bag of Anil Kumar traveling in air-conditioned coach A2 in suspicious condition.
When GRP personnel searched the bag, bundles of notes were recovered inside. The bundle contained Rs 52.46 lakh. During the search, some Nepali currency was also found from the accused. Katihar Railway Superintendent of Police Dr. Sanjay Bharti said that the valid documents of the notes recovered from the arrested accused are being examined. The Income Tax Department has been informed. Investigation is being done at various levels.

The policemen were stunned to see bundles of notes in the bag. When the police counted them, it was found that there was Rs 60 lakh in cash.
