Mau (Uttar Pradesh). Abbas Ansari, son of jailed don Mukhtar Ansari, may have won the election, but troubles have just begun for him. The Mau police have added more sections of the IPC in the case registered against them for allegedly threatening officers during this operation.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Mau Sushil Ghule said, “After seeking legal opinion in the case registered against Abbas Ansari on March 4, 153A (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race), 186 (voluntarily obstructing Other sections including castration). Is.”
Abbas had allegedly threatened state government officials from a public meeting stage in Paharpur area of Mau on the night of March 3.
He said that “after the formation of the Samajwadi Party (SP)-led government, the officers will have to give an account of their work in the previous government before being transferred.”
After the video of the speech went viral on social media, the Mau police on March 4 booked him under sections 171F (offence of undue influence or personality in election) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC.
Mentioning that more sections have been added in the same FIR. Ghule said that apart from registering an FIR against Abbas with the Kotwali police, a report was also sent to the Election Commission of India by the Returning Officer of the Mau Sadar assembly seat to take appropriate initiative.
After examining the report of Mau officials, the Election Commission imposed a 24-hour ban on Abbas’s election campaign.
On March 3, the video clip of Abbas’s speech in Paharpur area had gone viral.
Abbas Ansari had contested from Mau as a candidate of Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party (SBSP).
