Two years ago today, the lockdown was imposed for the first time in the country. To save the country from the corona virus, Prime Minister Modi had announced in his address that a 21-day complete lockdown would be imposed in the country from midnight of March 24. When the lockdown was announced for the first time, it seemed that perhaps in 21 days the country would conquer Corona and life would be back to normal. Although two years have passed since the pandemic, all is not back to normal as before. This epidemic took many lives, many children were orphaned and many people came on the road.
Restrictions imposed due to epidemic will end from March 31
The Central Government has announced that after March 31, the Disaster Management Act will not be implemented for measures to protect against corona. However, it will be necessary to wear a mask in public places and follow social distancing. Let us tell you that the cases of Omicron BA-2 are increasing rapidly in many countries including China, South Korea, Vietnam. However, the situation in India is continuously improving. Vaccination campaign is going on fast. Because of this the Government of India has decided to give freedom to the people from the restrictions.
How did three waves cause havoc?
Three waves of corona killed lakhs of people in India too. The second wave proved to be the most deadly when the delta variant of Corona was engulfing the country. Patients suffering outside hospitals, fighting for oxygen, helplessness of administration, burning pyres in crematoriums and ghats littered with corpses were testimony to the horrors of the pandemic. This was the time when the biggest man was helpless and the people sitting in the government had also knelt down.
The first wave started on 3 March 2020 and reached the peak on 16 September 2020. That is, it took about 200 days for this wave to reach the peak. Most of the migration took place in this wave. In this wave, the deaths were less as compared to the second wave, but a big crisis of employment arose in front of the people. Do not know how many people packed their sacks with the family and went out on the streets on foot.
The second wave shook the entire country in April and May 2021. During this, restrictions were imposed but some relaxations were also given so that economic activities could continue. Its peak came only in August. Although the infection rate was the highest in this wave and the highest number of deaths also occurred in the second wave itself. While the first wave was causing havoc in the cities itself, in the second wave a large number of people lost their lives in the villages too.
Omicron became the reason for the third wave
A new variant Omicron became the reason for the third wave in late 2021. However, the recovery rate in this wave was high and the deaths were only decreasing. A large number of people had been vaccinated and therefore the number of people admitted to the hospital was very small. The third wave made it clear that now people have agreed to live with the corona virus as well.
