The human rights situation in Jammu and Kashmir was being discussed in the UK Parliament. Meanwhile, a British MP, Bob Blackman, praised the Indian Army and said that Jammu and Kashmir could not become Afghanistan because of it. He told the reason for the tension between India and Pakistan about Kashmir and how Islamic forces are effective there. Terrorist attacks are taking place across the border i.e. from Pakistan side and infiltration is done from there on their behalf in India. In such a situation, if India withdraws its army from there, then Islamic forces there will end democracy from Kashmir. Which is absolutely not right for human rights.
Bob Blackman said that it is because of the Indian Army that the region of Jammu and Kashmir is not yet like Taliban-occupied Afghanistan. Speaking in the UK House of Commons, in response to a debate on the human rights situation in Jammu and Kashmir, Blackman noted that Kashmir has been “tainted” by numerous terrorist attacks, killings and forced conversions by radical Islamist terrorists.

“We must remember that Kashmir may be Muslim (majority), Jammu is predominantly Hindu and Ladakh is predominantly Buddhist. And the fact that historically persecuted religious minorities of Hindus, Sikhs, Christians, women and children are unfortunately suffering in the Valley.” He said that the Indian forces have played the responsibility of good security here.
He said, we have seen what happened in Afghanistan. If the troops were withdrawn, if we had a situation where there was no security, then the plight of Jammu and Kashmir would be the same as in Afghanistan.
“It is only the Indian army and the strong foundation of Indian military democracy that has blocked the territory of Jammu and Kashmir, such as Taliban-occupied Afghanistan,” Blackman said. Blackman ended his address by asking his colleagues to recognize the reality. There were two sides on the human rights situation in the British Parliament. Under which MP Blackman gave many arguments regarding Jammu and Kashmir, under which many leaders agreed.
Let us tell you that similarly during September 2019, concern was expressed in the UK Parliament regarding Jammu and Kashmir. Blackman had said that the entire Jammu and Kashmir region was part of sovereign India and urged Pakistan to leave Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).
