Bagchi said that after 16 flights reach India in the next 24 hours, almost all such Indians who have crossed the Ukraine border have reached India. Some people are still in Ukraine. We will continue to schedule flights in future as well.
He told that we are paying the most attention to eastern Ukraine, especially Kharkiv and Pisochin. We have managed to get a few buses there. Five buses are already helping with the evacuation. In the coming time, some more buses will also be made available. 900-1000 Indians are stranded in Pisochin. Similarly, there are more than 700 Indian citizens in Sumi. We are concerned about Sumi.
He told that we had demanded a special train by the Ukrainian administration, but we have not received any reply till now. We are trying in every possible way to evacuate Indians. Their safe return is our priority. He also said that if there is a ceasefire, it will be the best thing. Without a ceasefire, our job is becoming difficult. We urge Ukraine and Russia to have at least a local ceasefire so that we can evacuate our people and students.
