On Thursday, the eighth day of the Russian offensive, fire was seen raining from the skies of Ukraine. Here, tank shells were seen wreaking havoc in many areas including Kiev, Kharkiv, Lviv, Zhytomyr, Mykolev and Kyiv Oblasts. Whereas the flames of Western sanctions imposed on Russia have started scorching the Russians as well. Neither the payment system is working in the country nor cash is being withdrawn.
Overall, the common man is in panic due to this war in both Russia and Ukraine. Russian cruise missiles have increased attacks on government buildings and other populated areas in Ukraine. The intrusion of Russian forces into the main cities of Ukraine has created a humanitarian crisis there. People do not have ration and people are not coming out of bunkers even for food and drink.
People migrating to many cities are moving ahead by looting the shops there. Meanwhile, a red alert has been issued in the cities of Mykolev, Lviv, Zhytomyr, including Kyiv, asking people to reach the nearest camps. On the other hand, Russian currency ruble is not able to convert into foreign currency. Cash withdrawal here has been affected due to restrictions from western countries.
There are long queues outside ATMs and ATMs are not accepting cards from many banks. Apple has halted product sales in Russia. Due to non-working of Apple Pay, payments have been stopped in buses, cafes and important places. The amount of per capita purchases in supermarkets has also been limited. Many people have come on the streets as foreign companies shut down their business in Russia.
