In the midst of the ongoing war in Ukraine, the Central Government and the Embassy have chosen the route of Romania and Hungary to evacuate the Indians trapped there. Efforts have been started to evacuate Indians from this route.
Indian Embassy in Hungary said that currently the evacuation teams at CHOP-ZAHONY on the Hungarian border near Uzhorod and PORUBNE-SIRET in Chernivtsi on the border with Romania
are arriving.
The Indian Embassy in Hungary said that first those Indians, especially students, who are living in the vicinity of the said border posts, have been asked to reach there in an organized manner. He has been asked to coordinate with the team of the Ministry of External Affairs for this.
Due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, more than 15 thousand people of India are trapped in different cities there. About 4 thousand people have left from there. Many people were also brought to Delhi from the initial flights of Air India. Russian bombardment and fierce fighting between the armies of the two countries continues. The army blew up three bridges on the outskirts of Kiev to prevent Russian tanks from entering. In the midst of the war, the difficulties of the Indians are increasing. They don’t even have food and drink.
The government will bear the cost of the flight
Here, sources in Delhi said that the Indian government will start flights to evacuate the citizens of the country from Ukraine. The cost of these flights will be borne by the government.

The airspace has been closed after the war broke out in Ukraine. Air India’s special flight from India to Ukraine to pick up its citizens had returned on Thursday. Now arrangements are being made to evacuate Indians with the help of neighboring countries of Ukraine.
