In the midst of the war between Ukraine and Russia, the controversial statement of Union Minister Prahlad Joshi has turned the political temperature high. In fact, while another government is trying to bring them to India as soon as possible regarding the Indian students trapped in Ukraine, the statement of a minister of his own government has created trouble for the party. Union Minister Prahlad Joshi has given an absurd statement regarding students going abroad for studies. The BJP leader has said that only those students who fail NEET in India go abroad for studies. Other political parties have strongly objected to this statement of Joshi. Even called it an insult to Indian students.

Congress told insult to students
Congress spokesperson Randeep Surjewala has reacted sharply to Prahlad Joshi’s statement. Surjewala said that such statement of the Union Minister towards the Indian students trapped in Ukraine is nothing less than an insult to him.
At the same time, another Congress leader Ragini Nayak also targeted Union Minister Joshi. They demanded action against Joshi. The Congress leader said that if you cannot share someone’s sorrow, then do not make such statements. You are making fun of student Naveen’s death. Not only this, he said that Union Minister Joshi and PM Modi should apologize for such a statement.
Our focus should be getting all citizens back home safely. I am horrified that certain ministers in the Union Government knowing well that our children are in a life threatening situation are making such callous, insensitive and irresponsible remarks.

NCP told irresponsible statement
Along with the Congress, the NCP also made a scathing attack on the statement of the BJP leader. NCP MP Supriya Sule said that the situation is not good for both the students stranded in Ukraine and their parents. Our focus should be on evacuating Indian passengers safely. It is worrying to think that even in such an environment some of our ministers are making harsh, insensitive and irresponsible statements.
Actually, it is cheaper for Indians to study medicine in countries like Ukraine. This is the reason why Indian students go there in large numbers. In many countries including Ukraine and Russia, medical education can be completed by spending about 30 lakh rupees in five years.
Whereas in India its expenditure reaches from 70 lakh to one crore. If the seats are less then the problems get worse.
