UP Assembly Election 2022: On Monday, 7 March, voting will be held for the seventh and last phase of the UP assembly elections. On Sunday, all the polling parties and officials left for their respective polling stations before the last phase of polling. Giving information about its preparations, Uttar Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Ajay Kumar Shukla said that full security arrangements have been made in the polling stations. At the same time, keeping in mind the COVID infection, arrangements have also been made for thermal scanning, sanitizers, PPE kits, masks etc. at the polling stations. In this phase, polling will be held in 54 assembly constituencies of 9 districts, for which 613 candidates are in the fray, including 75 women candidates. Appealing to the people, the police officers said that we have made a lot of security arrangements. So as many people as possible come out and vote.

In which areas will the polling take place?
In the seventh phase, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s parliamentary constituency Varanasi will also go to polls. Along with this, the assembly seats of Azamgarh, the parliamentary constituency of Akhilesh Yadav, are also included in this phase. Apart from this, the districts of Mau, Ghazipur, Jaunpur, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Chandauli, Mirzapur and Sonbhadra are included. In the last assembly elections i.e. in the year 2017, the BJP and the alliance were victorious in 38 of these seats. So far six phases of elections have been held and now the last phase of elections is left. Elections have been held for 349 assembly seats in 67 districts of the state. The remaining 54 seats will go to polls on March 7.
