Meerut. The burnt body of a woman was found on Friday morning in the forest of Jisori village under Mundali police station area of Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut district. It is suspected that the dead body was burnt after killing the woman. The deceased could not be identified.
Some villagers were passing through the roadside tubewell on Harnathpur road in the forest of Jisori village under Mundali police station area, when they saw the dead body of a woman. The villagers informed the police about the burnt body. On information, the police reached the spot and efforts were made to identify the dead body from the nearby villagers, but could not be identified.
Police station in-charge (SHO) Mundali Subhash Singh said that the age of the deceased woman is about 20 years. According to preliminary investigation, a rope was tied around the woman’s neck, from which it is clear that she was strangled to death first. Then the body was burnt to erase the identity of the deceased. The dead body has been sent for post-mortem. While efforts are on to identify the deceased.
