In Lucknow North assembly seat, a close fight between BJP’s sitting MLA Dr. Neeraj Bora and Samajwadi Party’s Pooja Shukla was going on since Thursday morning. Samajwadi Party’s youth leader Pooja Shukla along with Neeraj Bora surprised everyone by taking the lead from the very first round. Pooja Shukla was contesting assembly elections for the first time and maintained a lead of up to 20 thousand votes over Neeraj Bora several times. In the last few rounds, Neeraj Bora made a good comeback and won by a margin of 33,953 votes.
What happened to Urusa Rana?
Urusa Rana, daughter of Urdu poet Munawwar Rana, who said ‘Yogi wins, will leave Uttar Pradesh’, has been given a very bad blow by the public. He got less votes than NOTA. Urusa was the Congress candidate from Unnao’s Purwa seat. Urusa could not even save her bail. He got only 1878 (0.73 percent) votes.
Khushi Dubey’s sister Neha Tiwari could not save her bail
In the UP elections, Congress had announced that Khushi Dubey’s mother Gayatri would be nominated from Kalyanpur assembly seat, but later due to some difficulties in Gayatri Tiwari’s nomination process, Khushi Dubey’s sister Neha Tiwari was made the candidate. To identify Neha Tiwari, it is necessary to remind you of the Bikru scandal. Talking about the Bikru case, the police had killed Amar Dubey, a special man of the infamous Vikas Dubey, in a police encounter. He got married a few days back. Later his wife Khushi Dubey was also made an accused and sent to jail. There was a lot of ruckus on this action and everyone from BSP to Congress opposed it. Later Priyanka Gandhi had met Khushi’s family and announced to field her mother in the electoral fray. But the screw is stuck and Neha Tiwari has been made the Congress candidate from Kalyanpur. BJP candidate Neelima Katiyar has won from Kalyanpur, while Neha Tiwari got only 2302 (1.23 percent) votes. Neha could not even save her bail.
Asha worker Poonam Pandey’s bail seized
Congress had given tickets to 50 women candidates in the first list for the UP elections. Many of these women were also such, who had no history of politics and contesting elections. One such candidate was Asha worker Poonam Pandey, who was fielded by Congress from Shahjahanpur.
Shahjahanpur’s ASHA worker Poonam Pandey demonstrated along with other workers to increase the honorarium. For this reason she was in discussion on social media. In fact, when Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had come to Shahjahanpur, when Asha workers came forward to give their demand letter, they were stopped by the UP Police. The UP police allegedly prevented the Asha daughters-in-law from meeting CM Yogi and behaved violently with them. Police beat up Asha worker, in which Poonam Pandey was most seriously injured. Poonam was brutally thrashed by the women policemen present there. Whose video went viral on social media. Priyanka Gandhi had declared Poonam Pandey as her candidate from here alleging that she was badly beaten up by the police. But Poonam Pandey was rejected by the public. She could not even save her bail. Poonam Pandey has got total 1382 (0.62 percent) votes. BJP candidate Suresh Kumar Khanna has won from Shahjahanpur. He got 1,09,188 (48.98 per cent) votes.
