Buoyed by a big victory in 4 states including Uttar Pradesh, BJP has already started preparations for the next round of elections. The BJP has intensified preparations for the elections to be held in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat later this year. Apart from this, elections are also to be held in Karnataka early next year and the campaign is going on from the party’s side there too. Himachal Pradesh CM Jai Ram Thakur reached Delhi on Friday and met Home Minister Amit Shah and party president JP Nadda during this time. In this meeting, Thakur is believed to have told the two leaders what are the preparations in the state and how the challenge of Congress and AAP can be faced. Particularly in the neighboring state of Bihar, the BJP will get a big advantage, where other parties have been trying to surround it by demanding caste census.
A big test for the BJP ahead of the assembly elections will also be the municipal elections, which are due in May or June. In fact, after winning a bumper victory in Punjab, the Aam Aadmi Party has now announced to spread its feet in Himachal. In the by-elections held in November, the BJP had to face defeat in one assembly and one Lok Sabha seat. After this there was a deep churn and the government took many decisions in a hurry. However, there was no change in the party and the government at any level.
PM Modi started the campaign by conducting a road show in Gujarat
Talking about Gujarat, the very next day after the results of the assembly elections of 5 states, PM Narendra Modi did a 9 km long road show in Ahmedabad. It is believed that in this way the BJP has formally started the election. In the next few days, many Union ministers are also going to visit Gujarat to take stock of the election preparations. Now talking about Karnataka, the BJP suffered a setback in the by-elections to the assembly, but after winning in some states, it is upbeat. The BJP, which has made many changes in the government from changing the CM, is expected to return to power under the leadership of Basavaraj Bommai.
Now BJP will get strength in Bihar too
Due to the election results, the BJP has also strengthened in a state like Bihar, where parties like Nitish Kumar, RJD have been continuously demanding caste census. In Uttar Pradesh too, the opposition parties had made the caste census an issue, but after the defeat of the SP, this issue seems to be weakening. Meanwhile, the BJP may take some action against its ally VIP leader Mukesh Sahni in Bihar, who has been vocal against the party.
