Summary
The sixth phase of polling was held in Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. Balrampur, Ambedkar Nagar, Siddharthnagar, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Maharajganj, Kushinagar, Gorakhpur, Deoria and Ballia districts were included in this phase. 54 percent of the people cast their votes in 57 seats in these ten districts.

In the sixth phase, voting was held on Thursday for 57 seats in 10 districts. Till 5 pm, 53.93 per cent voters exercised their franchise. The districts where voting took place included Balrampur, Ambedkar Nagar, Siddharthnagar, Basti, Sant Kabir Nagar, Maharajganj, Kushinagar, Gorakhpur, Deoria and Ballia. In 2017, a total of 56.64 per cent votes were cast in these seats.
What happened in the chief minister’s seat?
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is in the fray from Gorakhpur city seat. 51.00 percent voting took place in this seat till 5 pm. In the 2017 assembly elections, 50.98 per cent voter turnout was recorded in this seat. That is, till five o’clock in the evening, more voting was done than last time. The voting percentage may increase further when the final figures come.
How much voting in which district?
The highest voting took place in Akbarpur district till 5 pm. 58.68 percent of the voters here exercised their franchise. Maharajganj and Kushinagar were also included in the highest voting districts. In both these districts also, more than 55 percent people cast their votes till 5 pm. Balrampur and Siddharthnagar districts recorded the least voting. The polling percentage in both the districts was less than 50 per cent. In Balrampur till 5 pm, only 48.41 per cent voting was recorded and in Siddharthnagar district 49.83 per cent voting was done.

How was the voting in 2017
In 2017, Balrampur seat of Balrampur district had the lowest voter turnout of 47.06%. At the same time, the highest voting took place in Tanda seat of Ambedkar Nagar district. 67.43% votes were cast here. The second number was Akbarpur seat of the district where 66.73% votes were cast.
Talking about the districts, the highest voting took place in Ambedkar Nagar district. Here 64.11 per cent voters had exercised their vote. At the same time, Maharajganj district was at number two. Here 62.37 percent voters had voted. Kushinagar district was at number three. Here 58.35 percent voters had cast their vote. Balrampur district saw the lowest turnout among the districts included in the sixth phase. Only 51.02 per cent voters of the district had cast their vote. In Siddharthnagar, Sant Kabir Nagar and Ballia too, the voter turnout was less than 55 per cent.
