Lucknow. On the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh gave him the biggest gift. UP has given tap connections to 1 lakh 20 thousand 821 houses on September 17 under the Har Ghar Jal Yojana. Namami Gange and Rural Water Supply Department dedicated this record of giving maximum number of tap connections in a day to Prime Minister Narendra Modi. On September 17, the birthday of PM Modi, other states were left miles behind in front of UP’s speed of providing every-ghar tap connection. On September 17, about 2.59 lakh tap connections were given under Jal Jeevan Mission across the country. Of these, the Uttar Pradesh government alone made tap connections in 1 lakh 20 thousand 821 families. According to the data recorded on the portal of Jal Jeevan Mission, Andhra Pradesh was restricted to 30643, Karnataka 25377, Tamil Nadu 18671, Maharashtra 17649, Madhya Pradesh 16609 connections as on September 17. On this day, UP alone completed 40 percent of the tap connections made across the country.

The target was set to give 51 thousand connections
On the birthday of Prime Minister Modi, the government had set a target of providing tap connections to 51,000 families in UP. Namami Gange and Rural Water Supply Department created a record by providing clean drinking water to two and a half times more families than the target.
Record made in districts, Deoria on top
On the birthday of PM Modi, the foundation for the record of door-to-door tap connections was prepared in small districts as well. The officials engaged in providing village-village tap connections also created a new record for giving maximum tap connections in their respective districts. There are more than two dozen districts that have taken a big leap to provide tap connections. Of these, Deoria topped by giving 4212 connections in a single day in providing tap connections to the families. The gift of clean water was given to 4038 families in Gorakhpur, the home district of Chief Minister Yogi. Mahoba stood third by giving 3651 tap connections, Lakhimpur Kheri stood fourth with 3748 connections and Mirzapur stood fifth with 3523 tap connections.
