The Samajwadi Party (SP) on Sunday declared the list of 35 candidates for the Legislative Council elections. SP has given two of these seats to its ally RLD. These seats are Meerut-Ghaziabad and Bulandshahr. This time the SP has returned to its old social equation ‘MY’ i.e. Muslim-Yadav and has given importance to Yadav and Muslim class in the selection of 35 candidates. Apart from this, SP has nominated Gayatri Prasad Prajapati’s daughter-in-law from Amethi.
Apart from 29 seats in the first phase, candidates have also been decided for the second phase. Most of them have already filed their nomination papers. Nomination for the first phase can now be done only till Monday. SP has fielded new faces in place of Ravi Shankar Pappu, Rama Niranjan, CP Chand, who won last time. All this has gone to the BJP. Narendra Bhati, who won from Bulandshahr, has also gone to BJP. SP gave this seat to RLD. The MLCs present at the rest have been given tickets again. Shashank and Anand Bhadauria of SP refused to contest the elections.
Apart from this, the SP has expressed confidence in the family of convicted minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati. This time the party has declared Gayatri’s daughter-in-law Shilpa Prajapati as its candidate for the Sultanpur local authority elections. Supporters are happy with the announcement of the party. The SP had nominated Maharajji Prajapati, wife of convicted former minister Gayatri Prajapati, from the Amethi assembly seat. Creating an emotional atmosphere in a tough contest, Maharaji Devi defeated Dr. Sanjay Singh by 18096 votes. After this, SP has once again declared Shilpa Prajapati, wife of Anil Prajapati, elder son of Maharaji Devi, as the candidate for Sultanpur-Amethi MLC seat.
