New Delhi. After the return of the Yogi government to power in Uttar Pradesh, it is seen in full action mode. On one hand, the government is adopting a strict approach to crack down on criminals. On the other hand, the goons, frightened by the action of the UP Police, are surrendering themselves by going to the criminal police station. Meanwhile, the demand to change the names of the districts has started rising rapidly once again for the return of CM Yogi Adityanath. This time BJP MLA and former minister Vinod Singh has written a letter to CM Yogi Adityanath demanding to change the name of Sultanpur. Let us inform that earlier BJP MP Mukesh Rajput had written a letter to the Chief Minister demanding change of name of Farrukhabad to Panchalnagar.
In a letter to CM Yogi, BJP MLA Vinod Singh wrote, “Regardly it is requested that the district-Sultanpur, Ayodhya and Prayagraj are located between the holy places. Important mythological sites like Dhopap, Makarikund, Sitakund, Vijethua are located in the district. There is mythological evidence of the fact that Kush, the junior son of Lord Rama, who is dear to all of us, made this district his capital and named it as Kushabhavanpur. Later, Khilji Badshah renamed the district as Sultanpur in order to propagate his culture. In today’s democratic era, names like Sultan are knocking in the eyes of the public. There have been many people’s movements to get it changed, memorandums have been given. It remains a sensitive issue for the public.”
You must be aware that earlier Allahabad was renamed as Prayagraj, Faizabad as Ayodhya and Mughalsarai as Deendayal Upadhyay Nagar. At the same time, the names of many stations in the state were also changed.
