colony. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday inaugurated the second phase of Sansad Khel Mahakumbh 2022-23 through video conferencing. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath was also present during the opening ceremony of the competition held at Shaheed Satyawan Singh Stadium. In his address, the Chief Minister said that through the Sansad Khel Mahakumbh, started with the inspiration of PM Modi, rural youth players are getting an opportunity in the state today. He informed that playgrounds are being built by the government in 59 thousand gram panchayats of the state. The second phase of Sansad Khel Mahakumbh is being organized by Harish Dwivedi, Lok Sabha MP from Basti. Its first phase was organized from December 10 to December 16, 2022 and the second phase is being organized from January 18 to January 28, 2023. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath started the games by forwarding the ball with hockey sticks in the field. Earlier, in front of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and CM Yogi, the girls displayed a unique display of team spirit through Kho Kho game.

During his address, the Chief Minister said that the country and the world have seen a new India in the last 8 years. Changing India has made its strength felt in every field in front of the world. In this new perspective, under the leadership of PM Modi, India has now acquired the capability to lead the world. India getting the presidency of 20 big countries of the world is a part of that series. One area of the game was always neglected, which was not noticed by anyone. 8 years ago, with the inspiration of the PM, the Khelo India campaign started in the whole country, which has reached every village today through the Sansad Khel Mahakumbh. In 2021, through this, the rural youth got a chance to move forward, they got a platform for sports. I would heartily congratulate MP Harish Dwivedi and his team for organizing the second phase of this Khel Mahakumbh.
Sports kits are being provided to the players.
The Chief Minister said that sports grounds are being built in 58 thousand gram panchayats in UP. In this, land has been acquired in 34 thousand gram panchayats. At the same time, 30 rural sports grounds have been constructed in the township. Along with this, work is going on at a fast pace in the direction of making 45 sports grounds here. Apart from this, sports kits are being made available to the players through Yuvak Mangal Dal and Mahila Mangal Dal in every revenue village and children, youth and adults are being made aware about various sports competitions.
*Government is encouraging medal winning players*
The Chief Minister informed that work is being done by the state government to encourage the players who have won medals in Olympics, Asiad, Commonwealth and international competitions. An amount of Rs 6 crore is being given to the player who gets gold medal in the Olympics, Rs 3 crore to the silver medalist and Rs 1 crore to the player who gets bronze medal. Apart from this, the players participating in the Olympics are also given Rs 10 lakh by the state government. Similarly, 3 crore is given for bringing gold medal in Asiad, 2 crore for silver medal and 1 crore for bronze medal. Similarly, the state government is giving Rs 1.5 crore to the players who won gold medals in Commonwealth and World Championships, Rs 75 lakh for silver and Rs 50 lakh for bronze.

The Chief Minister said that the efforts to build a stadium in all the districts of the state and mini-stadiums at the block level are going on at a fast pace. The concrete spirit of the Prime Minister’s Khelo India campaign is now visible in its true form. Despite the COVID period, not only did our maximum number of players participate in the Olympics and Para-Olympics this year, but also received the maximum number of medals. Through this every section of the society is getting an opportunity to show their talent.
These games are being organized
Various competitions in both indoor and outdoor sports events like wrestling, kabaddi, kho kho, basketball, football, hockey, volleyball, handball, chess, carrom, badminton, table tennis etc. will be organized in the Sansad Khel Mahakumbh which started from Wednesday. Used to be. Apart from these, competitions like essay writing, painting, making Rangoli etc. will also be organized during this Khel Mahakumbh.
