Lucknow. Water reached the fields from canals for irrigation. The farms and barns flourished. May there be happiness on the faces of the farmers and they should get the benefits. All this is possible due to the efforts of Yogi government in UP. Irrigation and Water Resources Department is making every effort to benefit the farmers. Very soon he is going to modernize 239 state tube wells in 07 districts of Purvanchal and Bundelkhand. These tube wells supply water to the canals in times of water scarcity. The State Government has also emphasized on providing proper resources for irrigation while taking forward the schemes for the benefit of the farmers. In the second term, with the efforts of CM Yogi, elaborate arrangements are being made to bring irrigation facilities to the farmers’ fields.
The Irrigation and Water Resources Department has been given a 100-day action plan. Under the scheme, first of all 135 state tube wells in Gorakhpur, Basti, Ayodhya, Devipatan divisions and 104 state tube wells in Kanpur, Jhansi, Banda divisions will be modernized. Due to which 2395 hectare area will get abundant water for irrigation and more than 2480 farmers will be benefitted.
In this action plan, the Amaura Pump Canal of Ghazipur and the Divisional Workshop of Rae Bareli will also be equipped with modern resources. The department is also preparing to reburse 1101 state tube wells in 61 districts in the next six months. So that a large number of farmers should be promoted by giving maximum benefits to their farming. It may be mentioned that 70 percent of the water used for irrigation in the state is ground water. The dependence of the farmers on the ground water for irrigation is excessive and there is a big contribution of the state tube wells in this. As per the data, there are 34307 mobile tube wells in the state and their irrigation potential is 29.07 lakh hectares.
