Lakhimpur Kheri. Farmer leader Rakesh Tikait, who is in the headlines for his bigotry, has come under the purview of the police case due to one of his statements. FIR has been registered against Rakesh Tikait on the complaint of BJP leader Deepak Puri in Sadar Kotwali of Lakhimpur Kheri. Rakesh Tikait, under the banner of United Kisan Morcha, had staged a 75-hour sit-in demonstration with the farmers in Rajapur Mandi of Kheri from August 18. On the second day of this dharna, Rakesh Tikait made a controversial statement about the residents of Lakhimpur Kheri. Whose video went viral. Based on this, a case has now been registered against him.
The people of Lakhimpur Kheri were very agitated after the video of Rakesh Tikait’s controversial statement went viral. Tikait’s effigy was burnt at various places. Along with this, action was also demanded against Rakesh Tikait by giving a memorandum to the officers. BJP leader Deepak Puri had also applied to the Sadar Kotwali police to register a case after taking cognizance of the video. On this the police have registered a case. In this, the police have imposed serious sections including destroying the social fabric. According to Chandrashekhar Singh, in-charge of Sadar Kotwali, the investigation of this case has been handed over to Inspector Sanjay Singh of Crime Cases.
