Varanasi. The report of the survey of Gyanvapi Masjid has been filed in the court of Senior Division Civil Judge Varanasi Ravi Kumar Diwakar. This report is of 70 pages and has been filed in a sealed cover. Earlier, the removed court commissioner Ajay Mishra had also submitted a two-page report. In the report, Ajay had told that signs of a Hindu temple have been found on the western wall of the Gyanvapi mosque and part of the door frame of Shringar Gauri’s temple has also been found. Now the civil judge will also look at the new report and take a decision after that.
The civil judge had earlier sent Ajay Kumar Mishra, Vishal Singh and Ajay Pratap Singh as court commissioners and sent them for the survey. Later the court removed Ajay Mishra. Now the 70 page report has been filed by Vishal Singh and Ajay Pratap Singh. Even before filing the report, the Hindu side had claimed that the Shivling was found in the middle of the Vazukhana of the Gyanvapi Masjid. Two videos of this also surfaced. The survey report is presently in a closed envelope. Because of this, even the approval of the court is not known what Vishal Singh and Ajay Pratap Singh have said in their report.
On the other hand, the Masjid Arrangement Committee had earlier raised questions on the survey. According to the committee, this is a violation of the law relating to religious places made in 1991. The committee had also moved the Supreme Court to stop it. There, the bench of Justice DY Chandrachud had rightly upheld the order of the Varanasi Court to protect the Shivling-like figure. Along with this, he had also refused to stay the case going on in the lower court.
