New Delhi: India’s influence in the world has increased even more after Narendra Modi became the Prime Minister for a record third time. A Congressional delegation from America reached New Delhi to congratulate PM Modi on taking oath as the Prime Minister for the third time. This US Congressional delegation met Narendra Modi here on Thursday and congratulated him on becoming the Prime Minister of India for the third consecutive time. The delegation also strongly praised the success of the recently concluded general elections in India. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said in a statement that the seven-member US Congressional delegation led by Representative Michael McCaul, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, described India-US relations as the most important.
They also expressed their strong support for further deepening the comprehensive strategic global partnership in all areas, including trade, new and emerging technologies, defence, people-to-people exchanges. Other members of the delegation included former Speaker of the US House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi, besides Gregory Meeks, Mariannette Miller-Meeks, Nicole Malliotakis, Amrish Babulal “Ami Bera” and Jim McGovern. “The delegation members congratulated the Prime Minister on his historic election for the third consecutive time,” the statement said.
Appreciated the world’s largest elections held in India
The US Congress expressed its deep appreciation for the comprehensiveness, fairness and transparency of the world’s largest democratic process recently concluded in India. “Prime Minister Modi highlighted the important role played by the consistent and bipartisan support of the US Congress in advancing India-US relations, which are based on shared democratic values, respect for the rule of law, and strong people-to-people ties. He reiterated his commitment to further strengthen bilateral ties for the global good,” the statement said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a photo with the delegation on ‘X’ and said that there was a very good exchange of views during the meeting with friends from the US Congress. The Prime Minister recalled his state visit to the US in June last year, during which he had the opportunity to address a joint session of the US Congress for the second time in a historic manner.
