Jammu. Three terrorists were killed in an ongoing encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir’s Doda district on Wednesday. Police said the encounter started around 9.50 am in Bajad village in Gandoh area of the district. An officer said, “Based on intelligence about the presence of terrorists in the village, police, CRPF and army launched a cordon and search operation.”
He said that when the security forces reached close to the hiding terrorists, they opened fire on them. After this the encounter started. The officer said, “A total of three terrorists have been killed in the ongoing operation.” A large quantity of weapons and ammunition, including US-made M4 carbine, have been recovered from the encounter site.
Giving information about the incident, Additional Director General of Police, Jammu and Kashmir, Vijay Kumar said that the police got information about the presence of three terrorists when they started a search operation on Wednesday morning, after which the operation was started and in an encounter that lasted for several hours, the security forces killed all the terrorists.
Two terrorist attacks took place in Doda district on June 11 and 12. Security forces have prepared a comprehensive strategy against about 70 foreign terrorists allegedly active in Doda, Reasi, Poonch, Rajouri and Kishtwar districts of Jammu division. Police sources say that three locals have been arrested for allegedly providing food and shelter to the terrorists.
