Similarly, in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the BSP got 3.63 per cent votes in the country and 19.3 per cent in UP. The party was the second largest party in Uttar Pradesh after the BJP. Whereas in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, the Samajwadi Party came second. The BSP, which was reduced to zero in 2014, got 10 Lok Sabha seats in 2019.
BSP leaders claim that BSP has been successful in retaining its support base even in the fierce wave of Narendra Modi.
