Lucknow. The Pradhan Mantri Swamitva Yojana of the Government of India, launched with the objective of permanent settlement of revenue disputes and legal ownership of their houses to rural families, is rapidly taking shape in Uttar Pradesh under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath. Till last June, about 35 lakh families have been distributed rural family certificates (Gharauni). At the same time, drone survey of more than 74 thousand villages of 22 districts has been completed so far. Jalaun district has already won the title of preparing 100 percent household. By October 2023, the state government has set a target to provide home certificates to 2.5 crore rural families of all one lakh ten thousand revenue villages.
The scheme was started in 2020
Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Pradhan Mantri Swamitva Yojana on 24 April 2020 in the name of Rural Family Certificate (Gharauni). Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has a lot of emphasis on the implementation of this scheme, which plays an important role in realizing Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of ‘Gram Swaraj’. The Revenue Department is busy in implementing this rapidly. Uttar Pradesh is at the forefront in the implementation of the scheme. Till June 25, 3469879 families have been distributed Gharauni Certificates. After June 241415 new home certificates have been prepared. Thus far 3711294 rural housing certificates have been prepared for 25824 villages. At the same time, drone survey of other districts is going on continuously. So far, Gharauni is being prepared after completing the survey process in 74657 villages of 22 districts. On June 25, while digitally distributing Gharauni to 11 lakh families, Chief Minister Yogi had announced that by October 23, Gharauni would be made available to 2.5 lakh families of more than one lakh ten thousand revenue villages of the state.
Benefits of house certificate
Since the Rural Housing Certificate (Gharauni) will be prepared after the drone survey, metering and settlement of complaints in the open meeting of the villages, the dispute of residential land will be resolved. Through this proof, villagers can also start their employment and business by taking loan from bank on their house like in cities. Houses can also be benched and bought. At the same time, during the process of preparing the house, 3331417 complaints of undisputed inheritance were disposed of till 31 May 22. Whereas orders were passed in 2831417 cases of disputed inheritance.
