Vikas Sheel, additional secretary in the ministry, recently wrote to the states and union territories regarding expiring doses at private COVID-19 vaccination centres.
Earlier also instructions were issued to West Bengal, Karnataka, Kerala and Maharashtra. The Center has also asked all the states to regularly review the availability of the anti-COVID-19 vaccine in collaboration with private immunization centers.
Sheel has also asked the states to ensure that not a single vial is wasted in government or private vaccination centres. The provision for exchange of anti-COVID-19 vaccines is available on the Co-Win portal.
