Jodhpur. Medical science again performed a miracle. The doctor became an angel again. This time it is about Jodhpur AIIMS. Here the team of doctors performed a seemingly impossible heart operation. Due to the patient’s age and various diseases, this operation was done without dissection of the heart. The patient is now healthy.
The team of experienced doctors of Jodhpur AIIMS, equipped with modern facilities in the medical field, again did a miracle. A new history has been created. Gave new life to a heart patient using TAVI technology.
Miracle of doctors
Due to his old age, the patient had given up hope of ever getting a heart operation due to this disease. But Dr. Alok Kumar Sharma, Professor and Head of the Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery and his team made this possible. Today the patient is completely healthy. It is being claimed that this type of operation has been done for the first time in Jodhpur among all the AIIMS in the country.
Transcatheter aortic valve implantation
The Department of Cardio Thoracic and Vascular Surgery of Jodhpur AIIMS has performed the operation through TAVI i.e. Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation. In this operation, doctors have delivered the valve to the heart through a vein in the thigh without cutting the patient’s chest bone. Under the direction of Dr. Alok Kumar Sharma, Additional Professor and Head of the Department of Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, his team has made this operation successful.
This was a problem and this is how it brought relief.
Cardiothoracic specialist of AIIMS Jodhpur, Dr. Surendra Patel said that the patient is 69 years old. He was experiencing difficulty in breathing, swelling in his legs, weakness, nervousness and early fatigue for several months. He came to AIIMS for this treatment. The patient was suffering from coronary artery disease and also had problems like diabetes, obesity, kidney failure and chest infection, and the risk of performing surgery through traditional methods by opening the heart was high.
treatment lasted for a month
In collaboration with the Department of Cardiology and Anesthesia and Critical Care, it was decided to install a transcatheter aortic valve. The patient was given medicines to relax the heart for a month. After that it was decided to adopt the Tawi process. The valve was passed from the thigh vein to the heart without cutting the patient’s chest bone. The work was successful. The patient is now completely healthy. The family members are never tired of thanking the doctors.
