Home and Jail Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra reviewed the security arrangements
Bhopal (State Bureau). Seven terrorists convicted in the Ahmedabad blasts are currently lodged in Bhopal’s Central Jail. In view of this, the security system of the jail has been tightened. Their every move will be monitored 24 hours a day.
To keep the security tight in Bhopal Central Jail, a hotline will be set up to the nearest police station. A watch tower has been built to monitor the egg cell. Now the security system will be reviewed daily. For this a committee has been constituted under the chairmanship of Additional Director General of Police, Jail. Along with this, instructions have been given to Bhopal Commissioner Gulshan Bamra to increase the surveillance system of the police outside the jail. Instructions have been given to the jail department to change walkie-talkies, lock-keys, phones. A hotline arrangement will also be made in the Central Jail. These instructions were given by Home and Jail Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra while reviewing the security arrangements of Central Jail, Bhopal on Monday.

In the high level meeting, all aspects related to the security arrangements of Bhopal Central Jail were reviewed. It was told that in the egg cell where the terrorists are kept, tight security arrangements have been made. Armed forces personnel are deployed. There is 24-hour surveillance through the tower. Police force personnel are also stationed outside the jail. In the meeting, it was decided to constitute a committee under the chairmanship of Additional Director General of Police, Jail. In this, Deputy Inspector General of Police Jail and Jail Superintendent have been made members.
The committee will review every aspect related to security on a daily basis. In this it will be seen who wants to talk to the terrorists on the phone. What is the food and drink provided, how is it and is the security adequate or needs to be increased. The committee will be in touch with senior officials of the Home and Jail Department and will give security related information. The Home Minister said that in the meeting, it has been decided to set up a hotline in the jail.
It will be attached to Gandhi Nagar police station of Bairagarh. The security arrangements of the jail administration will be maintained inside the jail and the district police force will take care of the outside. For this, the Divisional Commissioner of Bhopal has been instructed to make arrangements. All security related arrangements have been checked. Electric fencing, CCTV cameras and highmask lights are working fine.
Additional Chief Secretary Home Dr. Rajesh Rajoura, Director General Jail Arvind Kumar, Additional Director General of Police Ghajiram Meena, Additional Director General of Police Ashok Awasthi and other officers were present in the meeting. 24 SIMI terrorists have been kept in the egg cell 24 SIMI terrorists have been kept in the egg cell of Bhopal Central Jail. Of these, six have been sentenced to death and one to life imprisonment in the Ahmedabad blast case. If the other expenses including the salary allowances of the security personnel posted here are taken into account, then about 2.5 crore rupees are spent in security. The egg cell is ready at a cost of Rs 4 crore.
