A huge amount of cash and jewelery was recovered from a jeweler during a raid in Bellary, Karnataka. It is reported that in Bellary, the police has seized a total of Rs 7 crore 21 lakh in cash and jewelery from a jeweller. A video of the seized cash and jewelery has also surfaced. It is seen that there are 6-6 stacks of notes on the police table. In the video, next to these notes, there were many sacks filled with jewelery and several dozen big gold bricks were also kept.
Jeweler did not have sufficient documents
Regarding this raid, the police said that such a huge amount of cash and jewelery has been seized from a jeweler named Naresh Soni. According to the police, out of the seized material, Rs 5 crore 60 lakh is cash. When the police interrogated the jeweler during the raid, Naresh Soni did not find such a huge amount of money and sufficient documents regarding the jewellery, after which all this material was confiscated on the instructions of the election officer.
Rs 4 crore cash seized from Chennai railway station
Earlier today, a huge amount of cash was also seized at Tambaram Railway Station in Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu. Officials have seized Rs 4 crore cash from here. It is being told that 3 people have been detained while trying to carry this cash in 6 bags. It is worth noting that in this case, BJP member and manager of a private hotel Satish, his brother Naveen and driver Perumal have been detained.
Liquor worth Rs 98 crore and cash worth Rs 3.53 crore seized from Chamrajnagar
Two days before this, the Karnataka Excise Department had seized liquor worth Rs 98.52 crore from Chamarajanagar Lok Sabha constituency of Mysuru Rural district. The Election Commission gave this information. The Income Tax Department and Static Surveillance Team (SST) have also seized cash worth Rs 3.53 crore. According to the commission, 1.22 crore liters of beer worth Rs 98.52 crore was seized from Chamarajanagar on Thursday. The Commission said that the Income Tax Department has seized Rs 2.20 crore from Bengaluru North Lok Sabha constituency. During investigation, cash worth Rs 35 lakh was seized from Gulbarga Lok Sabha constituency in Kalaburagi district and Rs 45 lakh from Udupi-Chikkamangaluru constituency. Voting is to be held in Karnataka in two phases – on 26 April and 7 May.
