Air Force will be involved in the campaign to bring students from Ukraine
Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has directed the Indian Air Force to join the operation “Operation Ganga” to bring back Indian students trapped in the Russia-Ukraine war. After this, the Air Force immediately started preparations. It will deploy its largest transport aircraft C-17 Globemaster in this mission.
To give impetus to “Operation Ganga”, the Prime Minister has asked the Air Force to join it. According to sources, Prime Minister Modi said that the process of return of Indians from Ukraine will gain momentum and their numbers will also increase with the Air Force planes joining the operation. Along with this, relief material being sent from India will also reach faster. Foreign Secretary Harsh Vardhan Shringla said that the first C-17 aircraft can fly to Romania on Wednesday. This plane is to take off from the hidden airbase at 4 am.
Following the instructions of the Prime Minister, the Indian Air Force also said that it is ready for whatever is needed to evacuate its citizens from Ukraine. However, the Air Force has not yet released the details of the flight of its aircraft under Operation Ganga. The C-17 Globemaster can carry 300 to 400 people at a time.
It is known that in the situation that arose after the Taliban occupation in Afghanistan last year, apart from Indian citizens, the Air Force had also launched a special operation to bring Afghan Hindus and Sikhs to India. In this too, the Air Force had deployed its C-17 aircraft.
