According to Hubli police, the mob pelted stones at the old police station. 4 policemen were injured in this. Earlier, the Hanuman temple near the police station was also targeted by the mob. People were demanding action against a person’s objectionable WhatsApp status.
According to Hubli Police Commissioner Labhu Ram, first lathi-charge was done and then teargas shells were also used to disperse the attacking mob at the old Hubli police station. After that the situation could come under control. At present, the police have registered a case and started investigation and steps are being taken to arrest the attackers. For now, there is peace in the city. Earlier, miscreants pelted stones on the procession taken out on the occasion of Ram Navami in Mulbagal area of Kolar, Karnataka itself. There was tension there too. Police has also arrested 5 people in the Kolar case.
A similar incident happened in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. In view of all these incidents, vigil has also been increased in UP. On the instructions of CM Yogi Adityanath, the police is keeping an eye on every sensitive area. In many cities, the police have also conducted flag marches. Let us inform that there has been no incident of violence in any city of UP during the procession on Hindu New Year, Ram Navami or Hanuman Jayanti.
