Kolkata: The second phase of voting is taking place today for the Lok Sabha elections 2024. Today voting is taking place on 88 seats in 13 states. Voting has started in three constituencies of North Bengal including strategically important Darjeeling. The other two constituencies are Balurghat and Raiganj. The voting process began at 7 am and is expected to continue till 6 pm. There is news that violence has taken place here.
There is news of clash between West Bengal BJP chief Sukant Majumdar and TMC workers in Balurghat. Majumdar alleged that a large number of TMC workers were present at a polling booth. Slogans of “go back” were also heard pointing towards Majumdar. Sukant Majumdar is BJP’s Lok Sabha candidate from Balurghat.

BJP has alleged an attempt to capture booth number 100 of Tapan assembly constituency in Patiram of Balurghat. BJP said that while this was being done, Sukant Majumdar interrupted. Sukant claimed that many Trinamool workers had come to capture the booth. The BJP candidate claimed that the police was also helping at that time.
Sukant Majumdar had to face this incident after voting for his wife at his booth in Balurghat. He alleged that Trinamool workers were trying to capture the booth. An attempt was made to capture this booth in front of the police. Sukantar alleged that BJP’s polling agent was beaten up at booth number 100.
