Germany Volkswagen, the car manufacturer of India, said on Monday that it will provide six airbags in all variants of its Tigun and Virtus models sold in India. Volkswagen has continuously introduced its vehicles with advanced safety standards under the ‘India 2.0’ strategy keeping the Indian market in mind. Its Tigun and Virtus models have also received a five-star safety rating from Global NCAP.

Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, Volkswagen Passenger Cars India, said, “All our cars introduced under the India 2.0 strategy will now offer six airbags from the initial versions. In this way we are showing our commitment towards safer transportation. ” He said that the company has also crossed the one lakh unit mark of sales of Tigun and Virtus models. Volkswagen introduced its sub-compact SUV Tigun in the Indian market in September 2021 while the sedan car Virtus was introduced in March 2022.
