Jain Inter College, Karhal
In the college where SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav studied and later became a teacher, in the same Jain Inter College, voting was initially slow, but later the participation of women increased here. 80-year-old Ramswaroop arrived with 79-year-old Premvati and 82-year-old Ramrati amidst heavy paramilitary presence. Instead of a wheel chair, he went to cast his vote with support. He returned and said that the pride of Mulayam’s son will increase further. There was enthusiasm among the supporters of SP in Karhal and 5 to 12 bags were seen outside every polling station, which were decorated with balloons.
Ghiror Primary School
While the cycle ran in Karhal, the fragrance of lotus kept smelling at the polling stations of the village in Barnahal and Ghiror. In the villages of Ghiror and Barnahal, voters were clearly divided into two groups. BJP workers struggled to stop the division of non-Yadav and Shakya votes. Three candidates are in the fray in Karhal assembly, but the bag of BSP candidate Kuldeep Narayan was also not visible anywhere. Voters in Ghiror’s polling stations kept their stand under wraps, while in Karhal, on the contrary, voters were seen declaring their support.
The eyes of the national and international media
In 16 elections, the eyes of national and international media were on Karhal, a socialist stronghold. There was a presence of more than 200 journalists outside the polling booth in Karhal’s Government Girls Inter College. Reports of Karhal’s voting kept going on national media with OV vans. The BJP has fielded Union Minister of State for Law and Justice and Agra MP SP Singh Baghel in his fight to take away the SP’s political stronghold Karhal.
