Ranchi. Voting for 14 Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand is to be held on 13, 20, 25 May and 1 June. Before that, till now a total of 20,679 people have exercised their franchise. In fact, this time the Election Commission has provided the facility of home voting for senior and disabled voters who are unable to reach the polling stations. Apart from this, the process of voting through postal ballot of people associated with election work has also started.
State Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Dr. Neha Arora told in a press conference on Thursday evening that till now 911 people have voted under home voting. At the same time, 211 absent voters associated with essential services have voted. Similarly, out of 2,05,525 voters engaged in election work, 19,557 people have voted through postal ballot paper.
Arora said that after the withdrawal of nominations for the sixth phase of elections, there are now 93 candidates left in the four parliamentary constituencies. Two people withdrew their names from Giridih parliamentary constituency on Thursday. In this way, now 16 candidates are left in the election fray. No one has withdrawn his nomination from Dhanbad parliamentary constituency. A total of 25 candidates are in the election fray from here.
He further informed that no candidate from Ranchi parliamentary constituency has withdrawn his nomination. A total of 27 candidates are in the fray from here. A candidate from Jamshedpur parliamentary constituency has withdrawn his candidature. Now 25 candidates are left here. Since the release of election notification, the figure of seizure of goods and cash in Jharkhand has reached 1 billion, 13 crore 69 lakh.
