The growth of the electric two-wheeler segment in the country has encouraged not only traditional vehicle manufacturers but also various startups to enter the electric mobility space. Recently, cab service provider company Ola introduced its first electric scooter S1, now another startup Bounce is also entering the electric two-wheeler space with its first scooter Infinity.
Bengaluru-based startup Bounce has today launched its new Infinity electric scooter in the domestic market. This scooter is also offered with no battery option. The starting price of this scooter with battery has been fixed at Rs 68,999 (ex-showroom, Delhi). However, after the EV subsidy offered by various states in the country, the price of this scooter can be Rs 59,999.
However, if you opt for the scooter without the battery, the scooter will cost around Rs 36,000. This option allows the customers to buy the scooter without purchasing a battery pack. Instead of buying batteries, customers can rent batteries from the company and choose a subscription pack to use the swapping network.
Batteries can be rented:
The Bounce Infinity electric scooter comes with a swappable battery and the company has partnered with Park+ to set up battery swapping stations at over 3,500 locations across 10 cities (initially). Simply put, customers can rent a battery pack from a swapping station and then replace the exhausted battery with a fully charged one. Although this service is not free for the customers, customers will have to pay for it.
Booking and Delivery:
Interested customers can book this scooter through the company’s official website for just Rs 499. It is being told that the test ride of this scooter can be started in the middle of this month. So that customers will be able to experience its driving as well. As far as the delivery is concerned, it can be started in the month of March of next year. This scooter is available in a total of 5 colours.
The Bounce Infinity is the first electric scooter available in the market to be offered with an optional battery pack. With this option the cost of the scooter comes down considerably as compared to its rivals. Experts believe that this scooter will give tough competition to the already existing models in the market like Bajaj Chetak and TVS Cube and Ather Energy.
Power and Driving Range:
The company has used a two kilowatt lithium-ion battery in this scooter. The company claims that this scooter gives a driving range of up to 85 km on a single charge and has a top speed of 65 km per hour. It also has a drag mode, which can be used if the scooter tire suddenly gets punctured while driving. This scooter also connects to a smart mobile app, in which many advanced connectivity features have been given.
