Delhi Police on Saturday registered an FIR against unknown people for allegedly vandalizing the signboard of the US Embassy in the capital Delhi. A right-wing organization called Hindu Sena has claimed the responsibility of putting up posters on the embassy’s signboard.
The poster read, “Untrustworthy Biden Administration…Stop threatening India. We don’t need you…America needs India against China. We are proud of all disciplined and brave Indian Armed Forces.”
DCP (New Delhi) Amrita Guguloth said that at around 10.15 pm on Friday, the signboard of the US Embassy was reported to be damaged. Our police team reached the spot and found the purported poster on the said signboard. The poster was immediately removed. Later, a case was registered under the Delhi Prevention of Defection of Property Act, he said. The DCP said that technical surveillance is being done to identify and nab the culprits.
In a statement issued by Hindu Sena national president Vishnu Gupta on Friday, he had claimed that members of his organization have resisted continued threats to India by US President Joe Biden’s administration.
He also alleged that the Biden administration has failed to revive the US economy hit by the Covid pandemic and has been actively involved in escalating the Ukraine-Russia crisis.
Gupta said India does not need history lessons from a country that invaded Yugoslavia and Iraq without the approval of the United Nations and destroyed at least a dozen countries if they did not bow their knees to “American imperialism”.
