Asansol. TMC leader and minister in Mamata’s government, Partha Chatterjee came under the ED’s custody after a large amount of money was recovered. Now another big leader of the ruling Mamata Banerjee’s party Trinamool Congress TMC in West Bengal seems to be trapped in the case of animal smuggling. The name of this TMC leader is Anubrata Mandal. He is in-charge of TMC in Birbhum district and, like Partha Chatterjee, is also considered close to Mamata. The CBI has filed the fourth chargesheet in the animal smuggling case in the court in Asansol on Monday. In this, 11 people including Anubrata’s bodyguard Saigal Hussain have been named as accused. The 40-page chargesheet states that Saigal took money from animal smugglers and carried them to Anubrata.
According to the CBI, it has got all the documentary evidence about the receipt of money from animal smuggling. The investigating agency says that it has also got documents of 49 properties purchased with this amount. The CBI has said in the chargesheet that the mobile call details of Saigal, the bodyguard of Anubrata Mandal, revealed that he was in contact with animal smugglers. In this chargesheet, the CBI has also named Vikas, brother of absconding TMC leader Binay Mishra. In such a situation, difficulties may increase for Anubrata Mandal in the coming days. Like Partha Chatterjee, Anubrata is also considered very close to Mamta Banerjee.
Let us tell you that the CBI had recently raided several places in Birbhum district of West Bengal in connection with animal smuggling. These raids of CBI took place in Ilambazar and Nanur areas. CBI raids were conducted at the houses of local TMC leaders including Mohammad Najibuddin alias Tulu Mandal, Abdul Karim Khan and Zia-ul Haq Sheikh alias Mukto. In the raid, the evidence of many other cases including animal smuggling was found by the investigating agency.
