In the recent past, there has been a rapid increase in the popularity and demand of electric vehicles in India. Electric vehicles have benefited from the high prices of petrol and diesel. These vehicles do not use petrol-diesel, but use rechargeable batteries, which can be charged easily and conveniently at your home, office or charging station. With the increasing popularity of electric vehicles in the country, it is also important to know what types of batteries are used in electric vehicles and what are their parameters.
Electric vehicle battery types
There are 3 types of batteries used in electric vehicles. Their names are as follows.
1. LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate).
2. NMC (Lithium Nickel Manganese Cobalt Oxide).
3. LTO (Lithium Titanate or Lithium Titanium Oxide).

Battery Parameters
Let us have a look at the parameters of these three types of batteries used in electric vehicles.
1. LFP
At the cell level, lithium iron phosphate batteries have a capacity of 90-120Wh/kg. This battery remains safe even in case of overcharge. However, there is a decline in the performance of this battery in low temperatures. If we talk about self discharge, then in this case also this battery does not live up to the expectations. But if we talk about high temperature, then in this case the performance of this battery is excellent.

2. NMC
At the cell level, lithium nickel manganese cobalt oxide batteries have a capacity of 50-80Wh/kg. Talking about the energy density, it is available at the moderate level in this battery. The performance of this battery is excellent even in low temperatures. Not only this, the performance of this battery is excellent even in the case of high temperature. Also, the cycle life of this battery is also great.
3. NMC
At the cell level, lithium titanate or lithium titanium oxide batteries have a capacity of 150-220Wh/kg. The energy density of this battery is also good. If we talk about power density too, then that too is seen well in this battery. The price / performance in this battery is seen in the best ratio. Also, the life of this battery is also great and best all round balance is seen in it.
