new Delhi. In view of Team India’s dismal performance in 2022, on the first day of the new year i.e. on January 1, 2023, the BCCI called a review meeting. The meeting was attended by BCCI President Roger Binny, captain Rohit Sharma, coach Rahul Dravid, National Cricket Academy chief VVS Laxman and current selection committee chief Chetan Sharma. In the meeting, in view of the defeat achieved by the Indian team in several series last year, a roadmap was prepared to ensure the victory of Team India in this new year. Many such rules were set which now all the players will be bound to obey. Let us tell you that now all the players will have to follow the rules like yo-yo test and dexa selection in the meeting. No player will get entry in the team without following these rules. Now the question may come in your mind that what is yo-yo test? We are going to answer your same question in this report.
Know what is yo-yo test?
Keep in mind, it is necessary for any player to be fit before participating in the game. Many times players take part in the game by claiming that they are fit, but when it comes to showing their strength in the field, they prove to be lazy and are unable to make the expected contribution to their team. The reason for this is sometimes said to be the unfitness of the players. Now, in order to avoid such situations, in the said review meeting this year, instructions have been given to conduct Yo-Yo test of the player before inducting him in the team.
How is yo-yo test
Actually, there are a total of 23 levels under the yo-yo test. The real ordeal for the players begins after the fifth level. The entire physical condition is recorded through the software. Under this technique, rows are made at a distance of 20 meters. After which the player has to run from one part to another. There are three corners in total. Where the distance from corner B to corner C is 20 metres. As soon as the sound of the beep is heard, the player has to run and touch cone C before the second beep, before the third beep the player has to cross the line of cone B.
As per the rules, there is a distance of five meters between the corners A and B. In such a situation, after two warnings, the player fails in the test. This test starts from 5th level, which runs till 23rd level. Let us tell you that in today’s review meeting led by the BCCI, the said decision is made mandatory for the players of the Indian cricket team. However, now how is the performance of Team India in the various series to be held in the upcoming 2023. Everyone’s eyes will be fixed on this.
