What happens if someone eats human flesh: A Mumbai man was shocked when a finger from a dead body of a man went into his mouth along with ice cream. The man was so shocked that he did not eat anything for two-three days. However, he is healthy till now and the police is trying to find out how the finger came in the ice cream. But the question is that if a person accidentally or in any way eats the flesh of a dead person, what will be the effect on his body. Will the person who eats the flesh get any disease? Some people believe that if the dead person has any disease, then the person who eats his flesh will also get that disease. How much truth is there in this? To investigate all these things, AnyTV spoke to the senior physician of Sir Gangaram Hospital, New Delhi. Dr. M Vali talked to.
Effects on the body from eating human flesh
Dr. M. Wali told that such cases are very rare. There are many aspects to it. If a person eats human flesh by mistake and if he comes to know about it, first of all he will feel disgusted. There will be psychological problems. He will feel guilty. He will go through severe psychological problems for a few days. Now as far as the effect of this on the body is concerned, broadly speaking, human flesh will also get digested in the stomach. The person who eats it will not have any special problem. If there is any, then there will be stomach related problems. Such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea etc. But if the person whose flesh has been eaten already has TB, AIDS, syphilis, hepatitis etc. then these diseases can be contracted by the person who eats it. Usually, if the dead person has any serious disease related to infection, then it can be contracted by the person who eats his flesh. But this is rarely possible because no one eats human flesh habitually, they eat it by mistake. However, there are some places in history where human flesh was eaten. This has happened in the Nithari case. Uganda’s President Idi Amin was said to be a cannibal. But the story of Papua New Guinea is amazing.
In Papua New Guinea, people used to eat meat habitually, then what about it
This happened around 1930. Before this, nobody knew the story of a mountain in the Pacific Ocean country Papua New Guinea. When Austrians set foot in search of gold, they discovered this mountain. Around 1950, many villages were discovered in the forest and on top of the mountain where about 11 thousand people lived. At the same time, it was found that 200 people died of the same kind of disease. Research on this went on for many years. Around 1960, research found that these people had the habit of eating the flesh of dead people. Due to this, these people got a disease called Kuru Kuru. Actually, these tribal people had a tradition. According to this tradition, when their close relatives died, they used to eat their flesh. Dr. Vali said that this disease occurs when a person regularly consumes human flesh. Generally, such cases are rare in the world.
What is Kuru disease?
Kuru disease is a transmissible spongiform encephalopathy. In this, the nerves gradually stop working. In the beginning, the hands and legs start trembling and gradually it becomes difficult to balance on these limbs. However, this disease remains in a suppressed state for 10-13 years. Its symptoms are headache, joint pain, shaking of hands and legs, loss of control of muscles.
