Now this time the news is coming from Madhya Pradesh where during the Income Tax raids, crores of rupees in cash have been confiscated from the persons associated with liquor and hotel business and their relatives.
According to a report in News18, during the Income Tax raid on the businessman of Damoh, Madhya Pradesh, on January 6, around 20 crores of benami properties and cash were found from various members of the family. Income tax officials found cash kept in various parts of the house, including a water tank. 80 lakh rupees were found by filling the bags in the water tank. After getting the cash, the officials had to dry the wet notes with the help of hair dryer and iron. Machines had to be ordered for counting cash.
According to media reports, the officers were also allegedly harassed during the raid. The family members left dogs on them, burnt paper and cash. During the raid that lasted for two days, two dozen officers had arrived and they faced difficulties and later the local police force had to be called.
