New Delhi. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has finally broken his silence regarding the Swati Maliwal incident and demanded a fair investigation and justice. In an interview with news agency PTI, Kejriwal spoke about there being two opposite versions of the incident. “I want a fair investigation and justice in the Swati Maliwal attack case as there are two versions of the incident. The police should investigate both sides fairly and ensure justice,” Kejriwal remarked.
When asked about his presence at his residence during the incident, Kejriwal confirmed that he was at home, but clarified that he was not present at the spot inside the CM residence where the alleged incident took place. It is noteworthy that in this case, Kejriwal’s personal secretary Vibhav Kumar is currently in police custody for five days. To questions about his wife Sunita’s possible involvement in politics, Kejriwal said she was not interested in entering the political arena and would not contest any election in future. In the PTI interview, Kejriwal also mentioned that if the ‘India’ coalition forms the government, it will work towards freeing the judiciary from pressure and ensuring their release from any legal entanglements.

On Tuesday, Delhi Police took Vibhav Kumar to Mumbai to recover data from his phone. Kumar is accused of formatting his phone before his arrest. Police suspect that Kumar may have transferred the data from his phone to someone or some device in Mumbai before erasing the data. Police have sent Kumar’s phone, laptop and CCTV recordings from Kejriwal’s residence for forensic examination.
