New Delhi. Only a few hours are left for the sixth phase of voting in the Lok Sabha elections. Voting will be held tomorrow i.e. on Saturday for 58 seats in many states of the country including Delhi. In such a situation, News 18 Hindi tried to know the mood of the common people, especially women, traveling in Delhi’s DTC buses and metro on Friday morning. Let us know what the common people of Delhi think about PM Modi, CM Arvind Kejriwal, Rahul Gandhi as well as candidates like Kanhaiya Kumar, Manoj Tiwari, Mahabal Mishra, Bansuri Swaraj and Somnath Bharti.
Raj Kumari, a woman sitting on the front seat of DTC bus number 0613, route number 85, says, “I am going from Ghaziabad to Lado Sarai. After getting down at Mandi House, I will take another bus for Lado Sarai. I am a resident of Lado Sarai, but now I live in Ghaziabad. I have cast my vote in Ghaziabad. Modi ji is doing good work for the country.”
Before the voting on 25th May in Delhi, big claims are being made regarding women’s votes.
Which issue is the hottest in Delhi?
18-year-old Khushboo, a resident of West Champaran district of Bihar, has recently passed 12th from Gautam Budh Nagar Navodaya Vidyalaya. Khushboo says, ‘I will also become a voter in the month of August. I am deeply shocked by Arvind Kejriwal’s stance on Swati Maliwal. Kejriwal ji has always raised the issue of girls with great enthusiasm, but at this time he is sitting quietly. Another complaint I have is that he had sworn on his children that he would not form an alliance with the Congress, but he did.’
Meenakshi, a resident of Chandra Vihar, says, ‘BJP is doing good work. They built the Ram temple. They started the bullet train. What else does the public need? Is all this not enough? However, this time I will neither vote for the BJP nor the Aam Aadmi Party nor the Congress party. I will vote for someone else. If I do not vote, my vote will be wasted.’
‘Arvind Kejriwal is doing good work for Delhi, but Modi is good for the country.’
Who is the first choice of the people between Kejriwal and Modi?
On route number 85, a woman named Rukhsana boards the bus from the bus stand in front of Balco Apartment. Rukhsana says, ‘I do decoration work. In my view, Arvind Kejriwal is doing good work for Delhi, but Modi is good for the country. Therefore, my vote will be for the development work done by Modi ji.’
Vedram also boards the bus from Balco Apartment in East Delhi. Vedram told AnyTV Hindi that look brother, we need Kejriwal for Delhi and Modi for the country. On the question of facilities, Vedram says, ‘Nobody gives facilities. Everyone is like this, but Modi is doing good work for the country. I don’t need anything, I am earning and eating, I don’t need anything for free.’
What is people’s opinion on free facility
Four women were travelling together in bus number 85. Two women told their names. One’s name was Kavita Negi and the other’s name was Vineeta Negi. AnyTV Hindi asked which issues will you keep in mind while going to vote tomorrow? These women first laughed out loud. Then they said this time Modi government… I want 1000, 2000 rupees. We don’t want anything for free. Then AnyTV asked what is the name of the BJP candidate from East Delhi seat? On this question, the women took the name of Harsh Malhotra. On being asked about the name of the Aam Aadmi Party’s candidate, these women said that they don’t know.
‘When children don’t get jobs, they throttle others.’

Subhash, who lives in a family apartment in East Delhi, says, “I do a private job. I travel in the metro every day. I talk to a lot of people. Let me tell you that Modi ji is doing good work for the country. He built toilets in every house in the village, but did not provide jobs. When children do not get jobs, they cut the throats of others. Kejriwal is not good for the country, but he is a great man for Delhi.”
Sandhya Tiwari, who is coming to Noida from Laxmi Nagar, says, ‘Look, I will vote for the one who will provide us facilities and will keep us safe. But, it is not like someone has bought me by giving me free electricity and water. When it comes to the country, in my eyes, the country comes first, the leader comes later.’
