India is stronger than Pakistan
India has overtaken Pakistan in this matter, it has become more powerful. We are not saying these things but this has been revealed in a report by Swedish think tank Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) on Monday. According to this report, India has more nuclear weapons than Pakistan, while China has increased its nuclear arsenal by January 2023. China had 410 nuclear weapons in 2023 and has increased the number of weapons to 500 by January 2024. In its analysis, SIPRI said that China’s nuclear arsenal increased from 410 weapons in January 2023 to 500 in January 2024, and it is expected to increase further.
India has more nuclear weapons than Pakistan
Nine nuclear-armed nations, including the US, Russia, the UK, France, China, India, Pakistan, North Korea and Israel, continue to modernise their nuclear arsenals and many of them have deployed new nuclear-capable weapon systems in 2023. India had 172 nuclear warheads in January this year, while Pakistan had 170. India has slightly expanded its nuclear arsenal in 2023. Both India and Pakistan have continued to develop new types of nuclear delivery systems in 2023.
Some of China’s weapons are on high operational alert
While Pakistan is eyeing India’s nuclear weapons, India is focusing on long-range weapons, including those capable of reaching targets across China, the SIPRI report said. About 2,100 of the deployed weapons were placed on high operational alert on ballistic missiles, and almost all of them belonged to Russia or the US. However, it is believed that for the first time some of China’s weapons are on high operational alert.
Russia and the US account for about 90 percent of the total nuclear weapons. The watchdog said Russia is estimated to have deployed about 36 more weapons with operational forces than it has in January 2023. China’s nuclear weapons stockpile is still expected to remain significantly smaller than Russia’s or the US’s stockpile, the report said.
