Yashwant Sinha, who was the Finance Minister in the Atal Vajpayee government, was counted among the veteran leaders of the BJP. Born on 6 November 1937 in Patna, 84-year-old Yashwant Sinha left the BJP in 2018 and joined Mamata Banerjee’s TMC in March 2021, almost three years later. Yashwant Sinha had also been an IAS for 24 years before joining politics. In these 24 years, he served in different administrative positions. After this, in 1984, he entered politics through the Janata Party. He was elected as the All India General Secretary of the party in 1986 and Rajya Sabha MP in 1988.
